Alicia Carrasco, EMEA Regulatory Director, SEDC / eMeter
Alicia joined eMeter in April 2010, having previously worked in the Energy Industry for 9 years. She is a recognised specialist in Regulations on Smart Metering, Smart Grid, HAN, Tariff and Incentives, Renewables Integration as well as on Data Communications, Demand Response and Interoperability.
In Europe, Alicia has been the eMeter thought leader on smart energy and has maintained regular dialogue with Energy Authorities and Energy Regulators regarding the development of concepts, services, and has responded actively to several consultations. She heavily participated in the formation of the Smart Energy Demand Coalition, a representative European industry group of approximately 40 utilities, technology companies, and NGOs, initiated by eMeter and VaasaETT at the end of 2010 to promote demand side program development in Europe through education, network building and interaction with regulators.

Laurent Clarimon, Project leader for CAT-iq and VoIP devices, Orange Labs
Vice-chairman of the ETSI TC DECT.
Laurent joined France Telecom Orange in 2005. He participated actively in the technical definition and launch of 16 HD Voice devices and services including some contributions to the Home Gateway choices made for several countries. Consistently, Laurent is very involved in the technical specification of the DECT-NG standard at ETSI level as well as the CAT-iq profiling and certification program at DECT Forum level.
Laurent also has a 10 years experience within Mitsubishi/Motorola and Wandel&Goltermann in the mobile phone, protocol analysers and real-time embedded development areas.
He holds a Dipl-Ing from the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) of Rennes.

Karin van Dam, System Architect Wireless, NEC Unified Solutions
In this role she is responsible for DECT hardware and CAT-iq development.
She was previously a Senior Scientist with Philips Research Laboratories in the UK and has many years of experience in the wireless area, in particular with DECT.
She holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Twente and a PhD from the University of London.

Joost Demarest, Director, KNX Association
Since 1992 responsible for Certification of Home and Building Control Equipment on the basis of the EIB protocol, since 2001 on the basis of the KNX technology.
Secretary of the KNX Technical Board, KNX Certification Group and KNX Executive Board; member of KNX Working Group Interworking Since June 2006 also nominated as Director System, Administration and Certification of KNX Association.

Joek de Haas, Business Development, Dialog Semiconductor
His main task is to develop new Low Power Wireless offerings for Dialog Semiconductor.
Joek received his master degree in Physics from the University of Utrecht and prior to joining
Dialog worked in senior positions at DSPG, NXP and PHILIPS. He has 25+ years experience
in Telecom related semiconductor industry.
Joek is currently involved in the development of DECT ULE which is one of the obvious
opportunities to create additional value from existing cordless business.

Daniel Hartnett, Senior Manager Product Marketing CAT-iq and VoIP Products, Lantiq Deutschland
Chairman of the CAT-iq Working Group in the DECT Forum
Daniel Hartnett is the Global Product Marketing Manager for VoIP products in the CPE business unit of Lantiq. Lantiq is the Wireline Communications Spin off of Infineon Technologies. His area of responsibility covers CAT-iq and VoIP in the Home Gateway, representing ideal synergy with his role in the DECT Forum as Chairman of the CAT-iq Working Group, a position he has held since September 2009.
Daniel’s tenure at Lantiq has overseen the integration of VoIP and most recently CAT-iq into the home Gateway.
Daniel holds a Commerce Degree from University College Dublin in Ireland.

Pieter Hermans CEO Jakajima
Jakajima is a market intelligence and innovation company specialising in telecom, ICT, and Consumer Electronics eco system. Pieter Hermans has over 20 years experience in the telecom/ICT/CE industry both as manager in international vendor companies and as a consultant.
Before Jakajima, Pieter Hermans was partner at media consultancy GEA, advising publishing industry, service providers, and network operators in a wide variety of media and IT related projects.
He was formerly international marketing manager at Philips Electronics for CD products and services, and later moved to Elektroson as CEO.
He gained a MSc degree in industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.

Dan D. S. Hermansen, Sales Manager, RTX Telecom A/S
Dan has a technical background from IC and RF circuitry design. Dan joined RTX in 2005 and has been working with sales, marketing and business development for the past 4 years.
In the past 2 years Dan has been defining the innovative R&D project of creating low power devices by using dedicated chipsets/circuitry and tweaking the DECT protocol and the results reached are ground breaking. Dan is now heading the DECT Ultra Low Energy (ULE) Working Group in DECT Forum working for a standardization of DECT ULE through ETSI.

Erich Kamperschroer, Chairman, DECT Forum
Erich Kamperschroer is the Chairman of the DECT Forum, the international association of the wireless home and enterprise communication industry. With more than 800 Mio devices sold and growing by more than 80 Mio devices per year, DECT, DECT 6.0 and their successor CAT-iq are worldwide adopted technologies with high relevance for cordless voice and home networking.
CAT-iq drives the convergence of telephony (voice) and broadband networks (data) and provides new application categories and product devices.
Erich holds a degree in Communications Engineering and has more than 17 years experience in telecommunication. As an innovation manager at several positions he always has been an inventor and a visionary who today holds more than 20 patents.

Jochen Kilian, Vice President Core Technology and Chief Architect, DSP Group
Jochen brings to DSP Group more than 10 years of experience with DECT products, including work involving speech algorithm design, Linux and other real-time operating systems, and system architecture.
At DSP Group, Jochen is responsible for DECT stack development, including DECT ULE, and the DSP algorithm design team. Jochen also represents DSP Group in the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and the DECT Forum. As vice chairman of the Forum, Jochen is in charge of all technical aspects of its ULE Working Group.
Jochen has a Dipl Ing (FH) from the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences Nuremberg.

Nathan Kotek, VP Marketing & Analyst Relations, Service2Media
Nathan brings over 15 years experience in strategy, marketing and sales in the IT and telecoms segment. As the first employee of Forrester Research Europe in Amsterdam, Nathan significantly contributed to commercially building their European presence.
He after held different business development positions at system integrator Sogeti, most successful business unit of Capgemini Worldwide. Further he served as VP Business Development at Yankee Group, a Boston based analyst firm focused on the mobile industry.
Kotek later served as an independent growth consultant helping various high potential technology companies with their go-to-market strategy, marketing messaging, and sales organization.
Nathan holds an undergraduate degree in Small Business Management from Haarlem Business School and a graduate degree in Organization & Management from the University of Amsterdam.

Richard Krupka, Vice President of Sales and Marketing,Uniden Corporation of America.
In his 25 years in Telecommunications, Rick has also worked for Vtech , Siemens, AT&T and ITT.
Instrumental in bringing DECT to the United States in 2005, he coined the marketing term “DECT6.0″. Has held positions as Chairman of the DECT forum US Working Group and President of UTAM, the FCC organization charted with the administration of the UPCS frequencies in North America.
Rick holds a BS in Industrial Arts and is a graduate of the Kellogg Business School of Management from North Western University.

Karl-Heinz Mueller, Director New Technology Development at CCT Tech Int. Ltd.
Karl-Heinz Mueller (Dipl.-Ing.) is the Director New Technology Development at CCT Tech Int. Ltd. in Hong Kong. He has 30 years business experience, whereof he is since 14 years working in Hong Kong.
He has in depth experience in digital cordless and broadband business especially with Asian companies supplying for World Markets.
As Expert for digital communication systems and broadband technology he is focusing on Technology, Marketing and Product Management strategies. Further he gained in depth experience on Android OS based products. Prior to joining CCT, he worked in senior positions at brand companies, e.g. Loewe Telecom, Binatone, Matra/AEG.

Peter Öhman, Senior Expert in R&D, Ericsson
Peter Öhman works at the Ericsson CTO-office in Stockholm as Senior Expert in R&D. He has a 30+ years experience in the telecom industry working with the development of many of Ericsson’s telecom systems.

Roel Ottink, Marketing Manager OEM and International Sales, Ascom Wireless Solutions
Roel Ottink has worked at the headquarter of Ascom Wireless Solutions since March 2002 and has held several positions within Sales and Marketing. Currently he is Marketing Manager OEM and International Sales, working with Ascom’s OEM customers and international network of distributors.
Before Roel joined Ascom he worked for Ericsson and Philips in various Product Management and Marketing roles.
Roel has extensive experience with Enterprise DECT products and solutions, having worked in that area for more than 15 years.
Roel joined the Board of the DECT Forum in 2005 and has been chairman of the Security Working Group since it was started in early 2009.

Raffaele de Peppe, Chairman, DLNA EMEA Task Force, Digital Connected Home Project, Telecom Italia
Dr. Raffaele de Peppe serves as the chairman of the EMEA Task Force for DLNA.
Dr. de Peppe is the Senior Marketing Manager at Telecom Italia, and responsible for the Digital Connected Home Project. In this role, Dr. de Peppe works to implement an ecosystem for the present and future, leveraging broadband connections in ADSL, FTTH, and mobile technologies to generated new revenue streams.
Prior to his current efforts, Dr. de Peppe worked in the strategic innovation for Telecom Italia, where he was in charge of innovative technologies and the head of a successful collaboration program with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. de Peppe has taken various roles at Telecom Italia Mobile and its international branches in Serbia, Brazil, and Spain. In these positions, he was responsible for launching commercial services, such as mobile prepaid telephony, from the start up phase until market maturity.
Dr. de Peppe graduated from Rome’s University in Electrical Engineering in 1987 and received an MBA at the IE Business School of Madrid in 2002.

Koen Peeters, Managing Director, Ciminko.
Ciminko has been active in remote management of Home devices since 2004.
Ciminko is a member company of BroadbandForum and EMEA representative for Finepoint ACS (Automatic Configuration Server).
Koen Peeters is also an active contributor to BroadbandHome workgroup, the workgroup responsible for the maintaining and evolving the TR-069 CPE WAN Management Protocol (CWMP).
He is co-editor of the upcoming TR104 issue 2, an update to the standard for managing VOIP enabled customer premises equipment. The new update will cover remote management of IP-PBX, DECT/CAT-iq, SIP trunking.

Fredy Rabih, Vice President, Multimedia Product Line Management, DSP Group
After helping to establish DSP Group’s multimedia product line over the last four years, Fredy is now responsible for managing and coordinating the XpandR® chipset family’s product definition and roadmap.
Prior to joining DSP Group, Fredy held several leadership positions at Texas Instruments including Product Manager for mobile WLAN and Global Program Manager of WLAN systems.
Before that, he served as System Architect and Project Manager at Libit, a pioneer in cable modem and DOCSIS technology that was acquired by TI in 1999. Fredy holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.

Hari Ramasubramanian, System Software Architect for CAT-iq and VoIP Products, Lantiq
Hari Ramasubramanian is the system software architect for CAT-iq and VoIP products in the CPE business unit of Lantiq. His area of responsibility covers the critical spectrum of software development, right from roadmap definition, gathering requirements, concept development until architecture finalization. Very recently, he has overseen the successful integration of CAT iq 2.0 into the latest Universal Gateway (UGW) software package of Lantiq.
In the last couple of years, he has been actively involved in Lantiq’s contribution to the DECT forum activities, like proposing IOP test specs for plugfests and review of the CAT iq specs. He has around 12 years of industry experience and has worked in different domains, like DSL, NMS and VoIP.
He has a masters degree in computer science from the Central University of India, Pondicherry.
Morad Sbahi, General Manager, SMC Networks EMEA
Morad overseas all aspects of SMC’s operator business across the geography. Prior to joining SMC Networks Morad was VP of Marketing and Business Development, EMEA with Ubee interactive.
Morad has an extensive background in semiconductor.
Prior to joining Ubee, Morad held various management positions with Texas Instruments, AMCC, and Broadcom.
A truly international executive, Morad graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Va Tech in the USA and is pursuing an MBA with the Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom. Morad is fluent in English, French, and Arabic.

Ruth Wilson, Marketing director EMEA DSP Group
Ruth Wilson joined DSP Group in 2002 and is responsible for DSP Group’s marketing activities in Europe, with a particular focus on the DECT/CAT-iq market and integration into the IP network. Since early 2006, Ruth has held the position of the Vice-Chair of the DECT Forum board and also Chairs the Market WG, whilst actively contributes to other key industry for a such as the HGI. Prior to joining DSP Group, Ruth led the Bluetooth Business team within the Systems Group at Cadence/Tality Design Systems. Ruth has over 25 years experience in the electronics industry, having a background in embedded software engineering and product realization in a variety of market sectors prior to focusing on the wireless semiconductor market. Ruth holds a BSC (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh.
