RTX has developed a highly flexible IP DECT system for use in the SME market.
The system is scalable and can be configured from a few handsets and base stations up to connecting 200 handsets and 40 base stations in one telephone network. The system features wideband CAT-iq audio offering a substantially improved audio quality, seamless handover between the bases and over the air synchronization.
RTX and the global PBX brand has entered into a development agreement where the IP DECT system has been developed and customized to meet specific customer requirements in terms of user interface, functionality and specific features for the various verticals pursued by the global PBX brand. The system is configured as DECT 6.0 which is the DECT standard for the North American market. The IP DECT VoIP 8630 system is made interoperable with several versions of the PBX telephone switches marketed by the global PBX provider in US and Canada. The product is marketed under the global brand of the PBX company and will be distributed and installed via their broad network of professional resellers. The product has over Q2 and Q3 undertaken substantial market tests by the global PBX partner and is being introduced to the market during Q4 2011.
RTX has for several years provided a range of wireless products to several major international brands within the Enterprise telephony sector on an OEM/ODM basis based on the DECT or DECT 6.0 technology (Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication). The products range from wireless Enterprise PBX handsets, cordless VoIP Systems, DECT repeaters and Wireless Phone Jacks to Skype DUALphones.
